Algiers: The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, has affirmed that Algeria's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) will surpass USD400 billion by the end of 2027 "at the very latest."
According to Algeria Press Service, during his periodic interview with national media representatives, aired Saturday evening on national television and radio channels, the President stressed that "by the end of 2027, we will exceed USD400 billion in GDP at the very least." He highlighted that the current momentum of the national economy provides strong optimism that this objective will be achieved.
The President further noted that Algeria is moving forward with its national project to transform into an emerging economy. He emphasized that achieving this goal requires the fulfillment of several conditions, including a reassessment of national needs and the completion of major infrastructure projects.
In this context, he specifically cited the Gara Djebilet iron ore mine, the Oued Amizour zinc-lead project, and the integrated phosphate project as pivotal to achieving the nation's economic ambitions.
