Tel Aviv: The Israeli occupation army has acknowledged a significant rise in settler terrorism within the occupied West Bank, marking a 30% increase in incidents during the first half of 2025 compared to the same timeframe in the previous year.

According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the data released by the occupation army radio reveals that 414 terrorist attacks by settlers have been recorded since the beginning of the year. This figure contrasts with the 318 incidents reported during the same period in 2024, and a total of 67 throughout the entirety of the prior year. However, the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission reported a much higher number, documenting 1691 attacks by the occupation and its settlers in May alone. This discrepancy highlights what is perceived as a deliberate lack of acknowledgment by the occupying state regarding the ongoing acts of terrorism against Palestinian people, their lands, and properties.

The occupation army’s release of these figures typically follows direct attacks on its soldiers, often overlooking the broader escalation of violence against Palestinians. This includes acts such as murder, arson, looting, and “price tag” attacks, which have reportedly been on the rise for several months under military protection.

An Israeli army officer has expressed concern over the situation, warning that the events could lead to a “long-term wave of violence” in the West Bank. Another officer noted that many attackers originate from different areas, and highlighted the establishment of an illegal colonial outpost near the Baal Hazor base on private Palestinian land two weeks ago.
