Colonel-Major Toumani KONE, Commander of the Combined Arms Command Post of the Center Theater of Operation MALI visited his troops engaged in operation, at the FAMa post in Sokolo from February 08 to 10, 2023.

A week after taking command, Colonel-Major Toumani KONE went to Ségou on February 8, 2023. For the occasion, he was accompanied by Commander Sékou SIDIBE and Captain Nazoun Raphael DIASSANA. The delegation was welcomed by Colonel Youssouf Oumar CISSE, Commander of Sector 5 of Operation MALIKO. After the greetings, Colonel CISSE first made a presentation of the security situation of sector 5. He gave the articulation, the deployment of the units, the activities carried out as a whole and the difficulties he encounters in the execution of its missions.

The Colonel-Major praised and encouraged the Commander of Sector 5 for his leadership and his commitment to the conduct of operations. He also invited the Com-sector to continue efforts to achieve the objectives. Finally, the Colonel-Major insisted on respect for the rules of engagement and respect for human rights at all levels of command.

On Thursday, February 9, 2023 in the morning, Colonel-Major Koné continued his field visit by going to Sokolo with the Commander of Sector-5 of Operation MALIKO to meet the GTIA KELETIGUI 1.

In Sokolo, the COM-THEATER Center which came to see and understand the problems with which its men are confronted, immersed itself in the evolution of the security situation through a briefing organized by the Commander of GTIA KELETIGUI 1, Lieutenant- Colonel Seydou GUINGO. He then met the FAMa staff of this GTIA who are always ready to do battle with the obscurantist forces. While providing advice to the young people for the success of their mission and answering all the questions asked, Colonel-Major Koné took note of the concerns.

After Sokolo, the COM-THEATER Center also spoke with the troupe in Diabali and Niono. In addition, in Diabali, Colonel-Major Toumani KONE met with the sector director of the Office du Niger, Mr. Salif OUEDRAGO. The latter testified to the positive impacts of the presence of the military in his sector on the economic level. He made a good assessment of the improvement in the security situation.
