The inauguration ceremony of the renovated buildings of the National Guard by EUCAP-Sahel Mali takes place on Friday, January 27, 2023, at the place d’armes of the Camp de la Garde de N’tomikôrôbougou. It was chaired by the Minister of Security and Civil Protection, Brigadier General Daoud Aly MOHAMMEDINE, in the presence of several military and civil authorities.

These renovated buildings once again reinforce the living and working conditions of the elements of the National Guard and will make it possible to maintain the troops on the spot. The buildings concerned by this renovation are the human resources building, it is about the good management of the staff, therefore, it will be necessary to have an appropriate working condition for this staff. Dormitories, for the different formations and the accommodation of elements from various backgrounds. And the Guardhouse, which allows the men to carry out their mission of securing the Barracks normally.

The Minister of Security and Civil Protection, Daoud Aly MOHAMMEDINE welcomed the renovation of these buildings which will contribute to improving the living and working conditions of the troops. He thanked the European mission for its daily support and accompaniment. After wishing a good return to the EUCAP-Sahel Mali Head of Mission, Hervé FLAHAUT, General MOHAMMEDINE invited the hierarchy of the National Guard to make good use of the achievements.

According to the Chief of Staff of the National Guard, Brigadier General Elisée Jean DAO, this achievement is the result of a long and frank cooperation. He praised EUCAP-Sahel Mali for all the efforts made and the achievements in favor of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), while thanking them for the results achieved. General Elysée also urged the FDS to continue this momentum of collective action and synergy for the success of arms in Mali. “Hervé FLAHAUD, you will soon return home, it is with sadness that we say goodbye to you, but also with joy knowing that you will join his family”, said General DAO.

In his speech, the Head of Mission of EUCAP-Sahel Mali, Hervé FLAHAUT, will say that it is with a certain emotion for him to participate in his last event as Head of Mission of EUCAP-Sahel in Mali. He expressed his gratitude to the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) for the trust placed in him and in his mission. “My mission will accompany Mali throughout this period until the electoral process is reached”, he hinted. The EUCAP-Sahel Mali Head of Mission also thanked the FDS and all Malians for their hospitality, while telling them that he will keep fond memories of this land of brotherhood.

The highlights of this inauguration ceremony were, among others, the presentation of a gift of recognition to the Head of Mission of EUCAP-Sahel Mali, the symbolic cutting of the ribbon, the taking of family photos and a refreshment.

This achievement is a relief for the N’tomikorobougou Guard Camp, because the success of the assigned missions requires good working conditions and continuous training of the men.
