National Day of Regained Sovereignty: The Kati Camp Women’s Association commemorates the 1st anniversary

As part of the festivities of the National Day of Regained Sovereignty, the Association des Femmes du Camp de Kati (AFCK), in collaboration with the women of the CAFO and the young people of Kati, organized a ceremony of raising the colors. It was Saturday, January 14, 2023, at the Cinquantenaire roundabout in Kati. It took place in the presence of the 1st Deputy Prefect of Kati, Mr. Mamadou N’Diawar DIARRA, the Mayor of the Urban Commune of Kati, Mr. Yoro WOLOGUEM, officials of defense and security services, customary officials and religious as well as women and children of soldiers and paramilitaries of Kati and surroundings.

The 1st Deputy to the Prefect of Kati, Mr. Mamadou N’Diawar DIARRA, on behalf of the highest authorities, sent his congratulations and encouragement for the immense efforts made within the framework of the support of our authorities in the permanent quest for peace, stability, cohesion and living together. He took the opportunity to thank and express his deep gratitude to the living forces of Kati for the decisive role they played during the painful events of 2022.

The president of the Kati Camp Women’s Association, spokesperson for the organizers, Ms. COULIBALY Fatoumata KEITA, for her part, thanked all those who made the trip to enhance the brilliance of this significant ceremony for our country. She declared that these brave men and women who fought for the accession of our country to National and International Sovereignty fully deserve that we dedicate this day to them. The President of the Women’s Association appealed to all the Malian people in general and the inhabitants of Kati in particular to be extra vigilant at all times. She urged them to immediately report and alert the FAMa for any suspicious cases noticed.

As a reminder, on January 14, 2023, Malians mobilized massively, in an unprecedented patriotic outburst, against the illegal, illegitimate and inhuman sanctions imposed on our country at the end of the double Summit of UEMOA and ECOWAS, held on January 09, 2023 in Accra. Their aim was to curb the action of the Malian Government in the implementation of the will of the Malian people expressed through the recommendations of the National Conference on Refoundation held from December 11 to 30, 2021.

In view of the impact of the historic event, in particular the strengthening of the resilience of the populations, the commitment of the people for the respect of the Sovereignty of the country, the awakening of conscience, the President of the Transition took the initiative to institutionalize from now on the celebration of the commemorative day of this great unprecedented mobilization of January 14 as “National Day of Regained Sovereignty”. This, to strengthen the patriotic feeling for the respect of National Sovereignty, but also the citizen defense of the vital interests of the Malian people.

For the cause, several Associations and NGOs took part in this Commemoration.
