The end of classic training ceremony for the military engineering weapons patent 1 and 2 took place on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at the classic engineering training center in Bapho. It was chaired by the Deputy Director of Military Engineering, Colonel-Major Adama DIARRA, in the presence of several military and civilian personalities from the Region of Ségou.
Admitted to the center, after a selection test, these 135 trainees spent 45 days in addition to military subjects, learning technical notions which are the heart of the profession of sappers. Namely, the destruction and neutralization of explosives, buildings, public works and earthmoving machinery.
In his speech, the commander of the 26th Military Engineer Regiment and coordinator of the center, Commander Gaoussou SOW thanked the Directorate of Engineering as well as the instructors for the confidence and the efforts made to make this course a success. He nevertheless reminded the trainees that the knowledge they have just acquired constitutes a springboard for increasing the efficiency of the tasks performed by the Engineers.
At the start of his remarks, the Deputy Director of Military Engineering, Colonel-Major Adama DIARRA, paid tribute to the victims who fell during this crisis in our country. He said he was honored to take part in the release of these weapons patents. Colonel-Major DIARRA praised the authorities of the transition for the enormous tasks accomplished in the fight against terrorism. Addressing the trainees, he urged them to put the notions acquired to good use for the success of the weapons in Mali.
It should be noted that since 2012, the Malian Armed Forces have been undertaking a reform aimed at providing the military institution not only with equipment but also with quality personnel to meet the security challenges facing the country.
