Kidal -Sector 2 of operation Maliko: the commander of the sector visiting the field.

After Tessalit, the commander of military region n°7 and head of sector 2 of the Maliko operation, Colonel Abdou Samba SYLLA continues to make contact with the troops. He went from February 10 to 12, 2023 to Bourem where the CP is based, to Taoussa and Bamba. The commander of sector 2 was accompanied by the zonal director of Health, doctor lieutenant-colonel Youssouf Camara, the zonal director of communications, Commander Benzani Koné, his logistics manager and operations coordinator, Captain Boubacar CISSÉ.

The purpose of this field visit was to be in direct contact with the detachments engaged in operation in these localities mentioned, to become immersed in the working and living conditions, to see the security measures put in place, to listen to the concerns of the elements and to bring advices.

Colonel Abdou Samba SYLLA visited all the security belts of the cities mentioned, starting with Bamba where he was received by the head of the detachment, Captain Dakouo KONÉ. He urged the elements to strengthen cohesion and collaboration with the populations, to respect customs and costumes, to remain vigilant and to determine as well as to know how to use weapons. He took advantage of this tour to take over from Bamba, put some broken down vehicles into operational condition and make some adjustments to some checkpoints.

Colonel SYLLA reassured the men that the command is doing everything to put the men in better combat conditions because the air vector is based in Gao and will provide fire support whenever necessary. After the meeting with the troupe, the delegation met with local authorities, civil society and notables of the town of Bamba.

The commander of Military Region No. 7 greeted the officials and exchanged with them on the concerns. The problems of insecurity, education, basic health and social services were exposed to the military command. Local officials have especially welcomed the presence of the army in Bamba and asked to strengthen the security gains by building a military base.

The colonel took note of the concerns and made the FAMa ambulance available to the population of Bamba for the evacuations, especially of women in childbirth. Consultations and free distribution of drugs for the benefit of the population have been carried out. A hundred people of all ages were able to benefit from free medication.
