The General Directorate of the National Gendarmerie, organized, on Friday January 27, 2023, a ceremony in honor of its valiant retired executives. This ceremony was chaired by the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Brigadier General Ousmane WELE, in the presence of the Director General of the Gendarmerie, Brigadier General Sambou Minkoro DIAKITE.
A mark of recognition and consideration for men who gave their best for the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) of Mali. After long and loyal services rendered to the Nation, the time has come for these valiant executives to assert their right to retirement.
They are a dozen people, after hard work, sacrifice and self-sacrifice to raise the torch of the FDS high, to receive the farewell words of the brothers in arms.
The Director General of the Gendarmerie, Brigadier General Sambou Minkoro DIAKITE, finds the occasion joyful but tinged with bitterness to lose people who have carried the name of the direction of the Gendarmerie to the firmament. He said he witnessed the good performances of many of these retirees in setting milestones, allowing the younger generation to meet the challenges.
Opportunity for the Chief of Staff of the Director General of the Gendarmerie, Squadron Leader Cheick Aguibou TRAORE, to recall the journeys and the enormous work done by some of these retirees. He reassured them of the good listening of the personnel of the Gendarmerie for advice and experiences of the elders. “Dear elders, we will miss you, but it is sure that others will benefit from your experiences”, he hinted. The Chief of Staff of the Director of the Gendarmerie, then wished them a very good retirement in the company of their families.
The representative of the retirees, retired Captain Kotigui SAMAKE, thanked the Director General of the Gendarmerie and his staff for the great tribute paid in their person. Thus, he informed them of their availability to the service of the Gendarmerie in case of need.
The emotional moments of this ceremony were the handing over of certificates of good conduct and bank checks to those retiring, letters of congratulations to the staff of the Sénou Brigade, to elements of the General Staff of the Armies of the Rapid Intervention Force ”QRF” who acted with professionalism during the arrest of an escaped prisoner. This congratulatory letter is designed as a source of inspiration and exemplary value.
These retirees with 38 to 40 years of service have contributed to the development of the Gendarmerie. During their career in the Armed Forces, they never forgot their oath and the missions assigned to them.
