In the wake of the celebration of the day of March 08, dedicated to women, the Social Action Division of the National Gendarmerie organized a Gala football match between the female Gendarmerie staff in blue and the widowed women of the Camps in jerseys YELLOW. A meeting won by the widowed women of the Camps on the score of a goal to zero. The kick-off was given at the Stade Ouinzin COULIBALY, by the Deputy Director General of the Gendarmerie, Colonel Najim AG ATTAYE, in the presence of the sponsor of the day, Aly Kouma, president of the Association of freight forwarders and Declarants of Mali. In his welcome address, the acting head of the Social Action Division of the Gendarmerie, Captain Doussou TRAORE recalled that March 8 each year is an opportunity for the government and all development actors to show the interest they give to the cause of women and to announce measures in their favour. Cne Traoré clarified that the expected benefit is to eliminate structural obstacles so that a girl or woman is not left behind. Before continuing that the community invites us to think about innovative ways to advance gender equality and the empowerment of women.
For his part, the President of the association of freight forwarders and declarants of Mali spoke of the importance of this day before expressing his firm desire to support the social action division of the Gendarmerie in its actions in favor of women. ” If all women deserve to be celebrated, the women of the Gendarmerie deserve to be a little more especially in this crucial period of the life of our country attacked from all sides by the forces of evil. If we had not been designated for this ceremony, we would have come on our own, as the symbol is very strong, ”he hammered.
Visibly very satisfied, the DGA of the Gendarmerie Colonel Najim congratulated the two teams for their fair play and especially the quality of the game produced on the ground. He also thanked the godfather Kouma for his unwavering support for women in order to give more importance to the day of March 08.
The other highlights of this day were, among others, sketches, performances by artists and acrobatic dances.
