As part of the strengthening of cohesion and solidarity within the Defense and Security Forces, the Military Sports Directorate and the National Police Directorate organized the 3rd edition of the Sports and Cohesion Day. It was on Friday, February 24, 2023, on the sports ground of the National Police School. Placed under the chairmanship of the Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs, Colonel Sadio CAMARA, this day recorded the presence of the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Oumar DIARRA, the Director of the National Police, Inspector General of Police Soulaïmane TRAORE and Chiefs of Staff and Directors of Services.
This day aims to create a climate of brotherhood, mixing and to increase the spirit of cohesion between the Defense and Security Forces. It is also a moment of festivity between brothers in arms. The different disciplines selected during this day were, among others, military ball, basketball, football, and jogging.
In his speech, the Director General of the National Police, the Inspector General of Police Soulaïmane TRAORE declared that sport carries value and virtue which guides our existence such as courage, the sense of effort, solidarity, will and loyalty. He expressed his deep gratitude to the President of the Transition, Colonel Assimi GOÏTA for having established this day of cohesion sports with the aim of strengthening solidarity between the Defense and Security Forces.
For the Director of Military Sports, Colonel Sega SISSOKO, this periodic celebration is an expression of the desire to unite around our army. It is also clear proof of the determination and commitment of our highest authorities to make this day of cohesion sport a factor of fortification, team spirit, cohesion and mutual support.
The Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs, Colonel Sadio CAMARA affirmed that this day of cohesion sport established and coordinated by the EMGA since the beginning of the transition is the perfect symbol of unity and the spirit of he team that animates the FAMa and is part of the natural order of the evolution of Mali. ”The rotating organization of this event allows each staff or service department to compete in turn with their brothers in arms in terms of hospitality and sporting quality,” Colonel Sadio CAMARA suggested. . “The Malian people can count on their defenders who speak with one voice, within a single united and unified command”, concluded the Minister of Defense.
