A delegation led by the commander of sector 1 of operation Maliko, Colonel Issa BAGAYOKO carried out on February 1 and 2, 2023 a tour of the 13th motorized infantry regiment of Ansongo circle and the detachment of Lele Hoye, locality located about 30 km from said circle. He was accompanied by the director of the 8 region of the gendarmerie, Colonel Bassekou BERTHE, the regional director of the police, the Divisional Commissioner Tapa DIALLO, the representative of the National Guard group, Captain Mark NIARE.
The objective is to be as close as possible to the troops who ensure the safety of people and their property, to ensure their working and living conditions, to report on the effectiveness of the deployment of the 13th infantry regiment which will have its PC in Ansongo in order to further strengthen the security system throughout the sector, see the operational status of the Lele hoye detachment and also ensure the progress of the renovation of the Ansongo camp for more capacity to welcome and provide advice to strengthen cohesion, synergy and discipline.
The first day was devoted to meeting the troops in Ansongo and Lele hoye. The delegation also met the displaced people from Indeliman and Tinhama in Ansongo. Colonel Bagayoko offered them food and visited the sites. At the end of this assessment and sensitization mission, the colonel paid a courtesy visit to the Nigerien contingent of MINUSMA installed in the sector.
