NDjamena: The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition wrapped up a two-day workshop titled “Effective Implementation of Security Council Resolutions, United Nations Conventions, and Relevant International Standards” in NDjamena, Chad. This workshop is part of the fourth phase of the Sahel Program and aimed at enhancing the understanding and implementation of international security standards among participants.
According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the closing ceremony was attended by Major General Pilot Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghidi, the Secretary-General of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition. The workshop was moderated by Yasser Al-Tayfi, an expert in combating the financing of terrorism and money laundering, and focused on employees from various sectors, including regulatory bodies, law enforcement agencies, and financial institutions.
The initiative is part of a broader series of programs by the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition under its regional agenda for the Sahel countries, which include Chad, Niger, Mali, Mauritania, and Burkina Faso. The outcomes of the workshop are expected to bolster institutional integration, update regulatory policies, and build national capacities to tackle security challenges related to terrorist financing, thereby enhancing the overall security and stability in the region.
